Bentley

In this area of our Website you will find a brief account of the genesis of the Derby Bentley, as it is now known. Originally Rolls-Royce called the car 'Bensport', and then the Rolls Bentley. When cars began to be made at Crewe after the war, the pre-war cars started to be described as 'Derby Bentleys', to distinguish them from their post-war successors.

In addition there is a brief technical description of the significant features of the various Bentley chassis. Finally the chassis numbers of individual motorcars are listed by chassis series.

To view Chassis Series select a model type from the list on the left.
