The majority of wiper arms fitted to the pre-war Rolls-Royce and Derby Bentley coachwork are mounted on Klaxon wiper drives. Some may use the Berkshire system. In both cases the spindle that carries the arm has a diameter of 5/16". The wiper arms currently available are made to fit 1/4" diameter shafts. When fitting modern arms the diameter of the spindle will have to be reduced by machining.
