Stop! Press... Vintage Brakes

We’ve been doing a lot of work on brakes in our Restoration Department recently and our engineers often say: if maintained correctly the brakes on a vintage car will stop the vehicle over only a few more feet than a modern car will. Using our considerable experience, gained over many years, we are able to overhaul and adjust brakes so that they are working efficiently and will then, in turn, last longer.

Since asbestos liners are no longer condoned, we are constantly researching the best alternative materials. We use a material which, like the original linings, has a high co-efficient of friction (COF or µ). You don’t have to have modern brakes to achieve modern braking distances, particularly if you leave it up to us.
