'Show and Tell' by Fiennes at RROC National Meet, and Pebble Beach

Fiennes Restoration ‘show and tell’ at RROC National Meet and Pebble Beach, in California

After gathering a cornucopia of awards and exclusive invitations to the most important classic car gatherings and concours (from Villa d’Este in Italy to Salon Privé in London), the Swiss pedigree Graber-coachbuilt Rolls-Royce 20/25 drop-head coupé - returned by Fiennes Restoration to its original glory - has arrived in California, in readiness for Pebble Beach’s own Concours.

As one of UK’s worthier entries, and before joining the élite collector cars at the most rarefied classic car event of the year, the Rolls-Royce restored by Dr Will Fiennes’s team is also participating in the RROC (Rolls-Royce Owners Club) Concours at the Club’s National Meet, which traditionally takes place on the Lake Tahoe just before Pebble Beach.

Dr Fiennes himself is holding a series of seminars tailored to Rolls-Royce owners and enthusiasts, over a period of three days. From basic principles of maintenance and how to set up the Rolls-Royce crankshaft vibration damper correctly, to overhaul procedures and an explanation of the design and operation of Rolls-Royce ‘Automatic Expanding’ type of carburettors as fitted to Silver Ghost, Phantom 2 and 20/25, Dr Fiennes returns as the UK expert in his field, having held seminars in America on all matters Rolls-Royce and Derby Bentley in previous years.

Only, this time, the Rolls-Royce 20/25 which was once owned by an Afghan prince and is back in the USA for the first time since it was found there, forgotten and dilapidated, over ten years ago, accompanies Dr Fiennes to showcase perfectly Fiennes Restoration’s wealth of manufacturing and engineering skills.

The British contribution to both history and California’s ‘hottest’ contest has never been more substantial.
