Grand Opening 2012

We couldn’t let the move to our new premises pass without celebrating our fantastic new workshops so on September 8th we held a ‘Grand Opening.’ After weeks of rain we were delighted to have beautiful warm sunshine and an array of superb vintage motor cars arrived to join the celebrations.

We were honoured to have a wonderful selection of cars from Austin 7s to Rolls-Royces, as well as a Model T Ford (in black, of course) and some wonderful Bugattis. Over 180 people and 60 vintage cars attended - too many to list them in detail - the lawns at Broughton Poggs were a magnificent sight.

During the day we opened up all 22,000 square foot of our workshops allowing visitors to get up close to the many and varied elements of our business: see demonstrations by our coachbuilders, to look at the engines we are currently overhauling, watch our Haas CNC machines in action, speak with staff, learn how we operate and why we have grown to consider ourselves a veritable force and centre of excellence in all areas of vintage car restoration.

We were delighted also that two car specialists from RM Auctions could be with us. They were on hand to talk to visitors about their cars and discuss with them the current marketplace.

Will Fiennes opened the new premises by cutting the statutory ribbon to rapturous applause. He told how he has taken his hobby of restoring vintage cars all the way to where he is today leading a brilliant team of over 30 members of staff who work on at least a dozen vintage cars at any one time.

Even Prime Minister, local West-Oxfordshire constituency MP David Cameron lent his support saying, “It is great to see such a thriving local enterprise bring British manufacturing and specialism to an international audience. Fiennes Restoration’s entrepreneurial spirit encapsulates some of the best that Britain has to offer.”

We hope to hold similar events during 2013 so if you would like the opportunity to visit us, look round our workshops and meet our experts, let us know or keep an eye out for dates and details on our website.
