Broughton Poggs - Open Day 2012

Fiennes Restoration would like to thank everyone who attended our Open Day on September 8th and helped us to celebrate a number of events:

• Moving to our new 22,000 square foot workshop here at Broughton Poggs
• Launching our brand new 6,000 square foot secure car storage facility
• Achieving record sales figures, particularly to overseas customers.

It was a pleasure to see so many cars and visitors out on the grass in front of our car storage facility enjoying the sunshine.

Our guests brought a wonderful selection of motorcars on the day: from Austin 7s to Rolls-Royces, as well as a Model T Ford (in black, of course) and some wonderful Bugattis. Over 60 vintage cars attended - too many to list them in detail - the car park was a magnificent sight.

For the event we opened up all 22,000 square foot of our workshops allowing visitors to get up close to the many and varied elements of our business: to look at the engines we are currently overhauling, see demonstrations by our coachbuilders, watch our Haas CNC machines in action, speak with staff, learn how we operate and why we have grown to consider ourselves a veritable force and centre of excellence in all areas of vintage car restoration.

We were delighted also that two car specialists from RM Auctions could be with us. They were on hand to talk to visitors about their cars and discuss with them the current marketplace.

Will Fiennes opened the new premises by cutting the statutory ribbon to rapturous applause from a workshop filled with guests. He addressed the audience telling them how he has taken his hobby of restoring vintage cars all the way to where he is today leading a brilliant team of over 30 members of staff who work on at least a dozen vintage cars at any one time.

What a wonderful day, and thanks to everyone who made it so superb.
