Aston Martin Owners Club visits Fiennes Restoration

On Saturday 4th May 2013, almost 100 Aston Martin owners and their cars gathered from across the country at the new premises of leading classic car restorer, Fiennes Restoration, to celebrate the centenary of Aston Martin.

The small Cotswold village of Broughton Poggs, the home of Fiennes Restoration, had even more beautiful and prestigious cars driving through it than normal. The driveways, lawns and car parks at Fiennes Restoration were packed with a stunning array of cars, from the iconic DB2 all the way up to Aston Martin’s most recent iteration of the Vanquish. Enthusiasts also brought along Rolls-Royces, Bentleys and a McLaren, complementing the magnificent motors lucky enough to be worked on by the Fiennes team. The cars on the day spanned an impressive 106 years.

Members of the Aston Martin Owners Club had an exclusive tour of the 33,000 sq ft of Fiennes Restorations’ workshops to survey the collection of beautiful cars, see demonstrations of Fiennes’ time-honoured craft and its Pebble Beach-winning capabilities in modern precision engineering. They then enjoyed a buffet lunch overlooking Fiennes Restoration’s car storage facility, with a prize draw for Taittinger champagne.

Will Fiennes said, “It is always a joy to share our new workshops with enthusiasts, who are almost without exception taken aback by the scale and sophistication of our coachwork and mechanical restoration.”

The Aston Martin Owners Club is marking the centenary of the marque with a series of other events throughout the year.
